In this Subject Specifications, I am going to explain how to get a Pass, Merit and Distinction in Operating Systems.
Pass
To get a 'Pass' in Operating Systems you need to:-
Install Windows XP onto a computer and then change a number of the settings. You will need to change the date and time, the currency, keyboard layout and input text and finally install a printer. You will then need to produce a step by step guide showing how you did this.
To get a 'Merit' in Operating Systems you need to:-
Add two more users to the computer and change the setttings for each user. You then have to update the previous step by step guide so it includes the two new users. You must explain the changes you have made and also the settings you have set them.
To get a 'Distinction' in Operating Systems you need to:-
Install both Red Hat Linux and Windows XP with no problems.Identify the file system you have chosen for Red Hat Linux, and you also have to create a step by step guide for installing Linux. You then need to write a list of pro's and con's for each Operating System, then once you have done this, make a recommendation to the management team, and justify your answer.
